Our Grand Presentation Evening 2016

Community Centre Lymington

1st November 2016


On the evening of 1st November, The Lions Club of Lymington and Brockenhurst, donated back to the community, profits from the Lymington Carnival amounting to £2575.The Fuller and McLellan Hall at the Lymington Community Centre was full with representatives from the many local and national organisations mentioned below.



The Club President Ian Duncan said


The Lymington Carnival continues to be very successful. He praised those young people in the community, who individually and through their organisations had helped in this event. He said that next year’s Carnival had been provisionally booked for Sunday the 16th July and hoped that the community would give us even greater support next year and that more people would now step forward and help with the Street Collection which was down this year, so we could raise even more money next year The Lymington and Brockenhurst Lions Club is part of the International Association of Lions Clubs which is the largest volunteer group in the world, with 1.3 million members in 200 countries and is truly a world wide Organisation. 

Donations were made to   

All Saints Sunday School and Church , Gateway Club, Hounds for Heroes, 

Little Wrens Pre School, Lymington Cricket Colts, Lymington Sprites  

Lymington Tennis Club, Milford Pre School, Pennington Infants School, Rangers               Solent Dolphin, Taekwondo

President Ian went on to thank   Lymington & Pennington Town Council and the main Sponsor - Coltens Care for their substantial financial support, plus donations from Central Southern Security and Barry Frampton Ltd   The Carnival Queen, Prince and Princess who were presented with book tokens, The Mayor for judging & presenting the trophies on the day, together with the Procession Judges - Sarah Edwards , Heidi Pucket , Jaqui England,  George Shaw                   

Friends of Lions (Paul & Hilary Robinson), Peter Hall, New Milton Lions Club, Solent Dolphin, Lymington Rangers ,  Tywando Club  assisting with Marshalling the Road Closures, NFDC for Road closure assistance with application & signage                                

Paul Martin of BHG Marine Providing RIBs for Carnival Queen, Prince and Princess              Thelma Mapes for organising the Window Spotting Competition   Club members Alex and Roger and The British Legion for organising and hosting Carnival Darts tournament
